A calendar year is coming to an end - and once again, a rather special one. The year 2021 has once again been characterised by the COVID-19 pandemic and its major consequences for the population and a wide range of businesses.
Although the epidemic is still a focal point, it's not something we'll be discussing further in this post. Instead, we would like to take this opportunity to wish customers, business partners, sparring partners, family and friends a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Before we do this, we want to take you on the past year at Meresalg Marketing.
Business development
Our business is built on a passion for the possibilities of the internet. 2021 has again been a year where we have spent a lot of time developing as a company and as people.
This year has been our best year financially (Press release: Tønder Business Council) – we are proud of that.
Day by day, we are learning more about our business and how we see ourselves in the market, which we believe is a crucial part of quickly navigating an uncertain world and creating a healthy and hopeful future.
Teamwork
Also a big thank you to our talented part-time employees, who again this year have done a great job and been a super important asset in Meresalg Marketing.
Kristoffer Dyhr Mohr is our octopus who is always a great content and link building coordinator. Kristoffer is awesome and we are happy to have him on board.
Markus Tornefeldt masters the 10-finger system and is our loyal copywriter who has written more than 1 million words for us over the years.
Johan Thomsen is our talent. Johan has been a great help with our internal (affiliate) projects, where his technical understanding and skills with a computer are a great asset to us.

Andreas and Lau
2021 was also the year where we had to test a completely new workflow. For 6 years we've been in the office together, but in September Lau decided to try an adventure abroad (journalist writing) in Spain, where he is still working from at the time of writing.
We have a close and good working relationship where things like this are also possible. There is a shared understanding of our future and a mutual respect for each other's skills that allows us to thrive and develop with this way of working.
Our biggest advantage is our good working relationship.

Once again this year, we would like to express our gratitude to our customers, who show us the trust needed for good co-operation and, not least, give us a great starting point for creating good results. Success is created together.
Thank you to new and old customers for the great co-operation. We look forward to winning even more first places in Google with you in 2022.
The future
We are very optimistic about the future. 2022 will be a year where we will focus a lot on making things smarter. We believe there are a number of scaling opportunities that can boost our products within consultancy work, link building and affiliate marketing.
In particular, we will further focus on link building and affiliate marketingboth of which are areas that will significantly strengthen our consultancy business.
Within link building, we have spent 5 years building a strong network, including exclusive agreements and volume agreements that make us highly competitive on selection and price. We have extensive knowledge in link building and have achieved good results on both our own and our customers' sites, where link building has been a key focal point for organic growth. In 2022, we will focus even more on link building.
In affiliate marketing, we currently run 12 different sites that cross-subsidise each other with almost 1.8 million visitors annually. These are strong media that can be used to create traction with our customers, but also ensure our business has a stronger foundation in terms of earnings. We expect to both buy and sell these sites in 2022 and are always looking for new and exciting opportunities.
